How I Work

I work with children, adolescents, and adults in individual, relationally-oriented, psychodynamic psychotherapy. People seek my help for a variety of reasons, whether to feel better about themselves broadly, or to change an aspect of themselves, their professional lives, or their relationships. My goal is to provide a sanctuary from judgement where we can explore change openly, regardless of what brings you to therapy.

Perhaps you are considering therapy because you have a problem you can pinpoint, but the solution feels out of reach. Or maybe it’s not quite clear what feels out of kilter, but you sense change is necessary. Using supportive exploration and pragmatic guidance, we will work together to understand better how you came to be who you are and feel how you feel, so you can move forward with a greater sense of ease.

Our goal is to help you understand your psychological experience, regardless of whether you are consciously aware of feelings and behaviors that may be self-defeating. In our work together, we will explore your dreams, your values, and your fears — as well as your strengths. We will take account of the full range of factors that might inhibit you from living the life you want to live, including the communities where you live and the identities you hold. I have considerable experience and

specialized training working with the LGBTQ, BIPOC, and immigrant communities.

Psychodynamic therapy is evidence-based and has proven its effectiveness in addressing a broad range of psychological problems. It is one of the only ways to achieve sustained relief from many forms of psychological distress. To learn more, click here.
